Olá, I am Débora!

I am here to help you learn Portuguese!

In my years traveling and living abroad I got to know for several times the process of learning a new language, I fell in love with it as well as with teaching.

My method revolves around identifying patterns in language and helping you to connect what you already know from the english language or other latin languages to portuguese, while helping you to train your hearing and develop a good pronunciation of sounds.

I have years of experience teaching my beautiful Portuguese community and everyone that wants to integrate it.

I tendentially work a lot with the structure and logic of the Portuguese language as well as with the funny and most passionate side of it. After all, a language expresses its people and culture.

They say ‘In Rome be Roman’, well in Portugal be (a bit) Portuguese. It will make your life easier!

Either you just want to learn the basics or go all the way till fluency, I’m here to support you on your journey!

My work with the Ocean Sisters in Ericeira…

The Ocean Sisters started as a small group of women who just wanted to share their experience and surf together. A  place for women from all around the world to support and inspire each other. It started in the summer of 2020 and grew a lot since then. I started teaching this amazing community based in Ericeira where the power of a group of different individuals is embraced to learn and grow together, without discrimination over sex, race, age, culture or origin.

The language classes with the Ocean Sisters started in the summer of 2021 and I worked intensively and dedicatedly for 3 years. As the Head of Portuguese Classes I had the pleasure and the responsibility of teaching, organizing activities and integrating the diversified members of this community that moved or wanted to move to Portugal, or were just curious about our culture and language. We welcomed in our movement and learning groups every individual that was interested in learning and growing together, reaching out to many people and having contacted more than 300 students so far.

My work keeps on going, proudly reaching more and more students from all over the world, as my mission and purpose is to help in their integration.
